Privacy Policy

Effective October 14, 2026

In short: Speed Volume uses your location only on your phone to measure your speed. We don't collect, store, sell or share your location. There are no ads, no analytics and no account to create.

This policy explains what information the Speed Volume app ("the app", "we") uses, and why. Speed Volume is published by Matthew Flanagan.

Location

The app uses your phone's GPS to measure how fast you're moving, so it can adjust your media volume.
Location is only used while Speed Volume is running (after you tap Start), including with the screen off. You can stop it at any time with Stop.
Location is processed on your device only. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and it is not stored after it's used.
The app asks only for "While using the app" location permission.

Media volume and Now Playing

The app reads and changes your phone's media volume. This stays on your device.
On Android, the optional Now Playing feature shows the title, artist and artwork of what's playing and lets you pause or skip. It requires Notification access, which you can turn on or off in your phone's settings. The app uses this only to read the current media and does not read, store or send your notifications.

Settings stored on your phone

Your profiles, volume settings and preferences are saved on your device so the app remembers them. They are not sent to us. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

Subscriptions

Purchases of Speed Volume Unlimited are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details.
We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active on your devices. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase history for this app, and basic device information. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
Apple's and Google's handling of your purchase is covered by their own privacy policies.

What we don't do

No advertising and no advertising IDs.
No analytics or tracking.
No accounts, names, email addresses or contacts are collected.
We don't sell or share personal information.

Children

Speed Volume is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date above.
